2011 PWC Asian Champion: Ayumu Miyata, Boomerang 8

The 2nd PWC of 2011 was held in Mungyeong, Korea from 14th to 21st May. The winner of the Asian Championship, Ayumu Miyata (Japan - Boomerang 8) was well placed in the overall ranking in 7th. Suyong Pi (Korea), also flying the Boomerang 8, ranked 3rd (13th overall).

The Asian female ranking saw Boomerang 8 pilots Xiangping Hou (China) in 2nd place and Noriko Mizunuma (Japan) in 3rd.

Just 2 valid tasks were flown in a week characterised by challenging weather conditions. The local organisation headed by Gin Soek Song tried to make the best of the conditions but uncharacteristic changing winds resulted in 2 tasks being cancelled with pilots flying.

Task 1 was the only 'racing' task of the week. GIN team pilots Yassen Savov and Micky Von Wachter led the race but they landed just short of goal as they hit big sink after crossing the end of speed section.

Jimmy Pacher (Italy) was able to optimise the glide to finish in 2nd place in the task and eventually 2nd overall, just 5 points behind the overall winner, Jack Brown (USA).
